Pre and Post Donation Tips
Prepare for your next plasma donation:
- Like blood donations, we conduct a vitals check. To ensure you have enough red blood cells to donate safely, we recommend eating a full, healthy meal within 2 hours of your appointment.
- Try to avoid sodium-rich, fatty foods which can increase the presence of lipids in your blood cells.
- Staying hydrated is key to making the process faster - in addition to water, we recommend fruit juice to boost your vitamin C!
- To avoid dehydration, our donors should avoid alcohol 24 hours before the appointment and caffeine the day of.
- Get plenty of sleep!
